Basement Reading Group – First Meeting Wednesday 25th November 5pm

Basement Reading Group is about building up an awareness of ways of perceiving the world, so that our perception becomes more fluid and we can begin to think differently. To do this, a thinker will be selected each week and a chosen text will be read by the participants. At the meetings, the group will try to help each other find their way through the text, initially sticking purely to what is written and then opening up to discussion and debate. Ideas and issues which arise from reading one text will lead the group to choosing the next text by the same or different authors.

New comers to the Reading Group are always welcome.

The text discussed at the first meeting will be Ambiguity and Freedom, the first part of Simone De Beauvoir’s The Ethics of Ambiguity which is available via this link:

The first meeting of the Reading Group will take place in Basement Project Space on Wednesday the 25th of November at 5pm.

All are Welcome.
