OPENING THURSDAY 21st Oct 2010 6pm
As part of an Intensive residency, artist Barbara Ilse was invited to create an installation responding to the site at Basement Project Space. The resultant debut solo exhibition culminates with an exciting and immersive installation, Opening Thursday 21st October at 6pm.
Running thereafter: 22nd – 28th October 2010, open 12 – 5pm daily. All very welcome, BYOB.

Barbara Ilse was born in Berlin, Germany in 1973. Barbara lives and works between Cork, Ireland and Bremen, Germany. She recently received a BA in Fine Art from the Crawford College of Art and Design in 2010.

Statement:
With my work I am intending to create metamorphed, mechanical-visceral intermediary spaces. Boundaries between fact and fiction are explored.
I am attracted to use both natural, found objects and also man-made everyday – world items, displayed in a slightly different context.
