About

Basement Project Space is an Artist-led initiative located in the Basement level of Ozalid House on Camden Quay, Cork city, Ireland. It was co-founded by 3 Cork-based artists Lorraine Mc Donnell, Stephanie Hough, and Rachel Mc Donnell in July 2009.

The Space consists of a Project/Exhibition area at the front of the building with a designated common area.

Also to the rear of the building there is 3-shared artist studios, Media-Lab/dark-space and kitchen facility.

The aim for Basement Project Space is to offer an alternative interdisciplinary visual art space in order to engage in current contemporary dialogue between practitioner, practice and viewer. Aiming to bring divergent artistic disciplines to a wider audience in Cork city and beyond. To do this we are endeavoring to host an array of contemporary artists, creative thinkers and multifarious creative practitioners. Giving them a platform through an open-ended program of exhibitions, experimental collaborative projects and once a month events.

    Hello,

I’m Audrey Atkinson. I graduated from Crawford last year and currently doing an internship with Cill Riallaig in Ballinskelligs in Co. Kerry.

On behalf of Cill Riallaig, I am wondering if you guys would like to have a photocopier for FREE. No catch…well other than collecting it yourself. we have newer photocopy machines so this one will go to the dump otherwise, but knowing that you are relatively new collective. I thought perhaps you would like to have it.

let me know if this interests you šŸ™‚

    all the best,

    Audrey
